Next time you are hungry, find your way to a fantastic meal.
Whether you prepare it yourself or have it prepared for you; it matters not.
As the meal is ready in front of you, stop.
Don’t eat it, just sit there for 5 minutes.
Pause.
Don’t look around to pass the time; simply sit there.
Appreciate the meal in front of you but don’t let your mind wander, because believe me – it will try.
Falling into distraction to lessen the perception of the time passed is your instinct’s final attempt at holding onto you.
Within moments of this pause, you will notice a separation between your instinct to eat and your intentions that hold it at bay.
Your instincts have lost its power over you.
So now I have a question.
Was this restraint that you just experienced?
Or freedom?
