Sometimes I wonder what the world would be like if we did two things differently.
If in the face of adversity, against the tugging will of our lizard brain, we looked around for someone less fortunate than ourselves and helped them.

If in the face of success and prosperity we helped ourselves.
Often in the darkness of uncertainty, in the midst of unyielding difficulty, we seek to grasp anything that will numb the pain and suffering.
Anything that will relinquish the now.
Often on the platforms of our prosperity, if we are fortunate to remember, we may extend a calculated helping hand.
But I wonder what would happen if we helped when we needed help.
I wonder what would happen if we savored in the good times instead.
Maybe we would discover that reaching out to help was the strength we were looking for.
Maybe we would discover that celebrating in our good fortune, we would become the strength others were hoping for.
I wonder what the world would be like, upside down.
Perhaps, for once, we would be right side up.
